Cool pics Jack. I always thought it was interesting how much the B-17F nose and nose compartment windows differed from one another.

Jack, can you email me a high resolution scan of the Vulture, Barney Smith who lives about five miles from me was a ground support Mechanic on this aircraft. I would love to add it to my Barny Smith Collection. He took some photos, but never a complete photo of "his" airplane.
Thanks in advance.

I thought some of those looked familier, I had a great uncle who was in the 91st on the "Buccaneer" until they got a new ship and shot down on 3-44 on a Berlin raid, POW.
Thanks for posting those.

WOW... Thanks Jack.

My Dad bailed out of Windy City Avenger on Black Thursday Oct., 1943.

It was a "borrowed" airplane with the 384th BG out of Grafton-Undermud.
It made it back over England and the control cables to the elevator separated and so everybody joined the caterpiller club.

Pieces of WCA may be seen at the CAF West Houston Sqdn. museum in the third cabinet on the right.
