German airfield?

From the stack I'm going through... is this a bombed-out German airfield? Anyone know where?

yes - this is a German airfield - nearest a/c is a Bücker Bü-181 Bestman Liaison aircraft - in the rear is a P-47D Razorback with what appears to be a Malcolm hood - a modification rarely seen on 'Jugs' -

the identification of this airfield might prove rather difficult - these Luftwaffe buildings / hangars visible were standardized for and could be found on many German airfields - I've seen such at Gablingen, Schweinfurt, Neubiberg, Giebelstadt, Fritzlar, Oberpfaffenhofen... just to name a few.

Same design at Fliegerhorst Kassern (Hanau Army Air Field) back in late 70's early 80's. Two hangers and the Airfield Operations building were original from WWII when I was there.

I think that this is one f the few images of the same hangar- other angle of this hangar show Fw190D inside. Original image is in National Archives and it is Public Domain...

Wiesbaden Army Airfield. Very close to Frankfurt. Currently used by the US Army for RC-12K's. Werner Molders was base commander at one time. Will try and post a picture soon.

Curious stuff.........
