T-6 / SNJ Shipping T.O.s / Moving cradles -- advice?

Mon Oct 27, 2008 4:17 pm

Hi,
I'm about to help a friend move a SNJ / T-6 by truck for final restoration to fly ( pretty short trip, not cross country ). He has the regular -2's etc which show how to disassemble / hoist the aircraft but not the separate shipping info T.O. ( wing cradle designs, weights of sections etc ). I've seen some for sale online but they also come with the -2 and -4 which we already have. Does any one have a source for the special T.O. ? Also I've seen a NAA manual listed. Does it have a good "Erection & Shipping" section ? Any advice and warnings accepted!!

I'll post pictures after the move. :D

Cheers,
Brian

we have moved a T-6 with nothing more than a trailer to fit the fuselage and a rack on the bed of a pickup to hold the wings high enough to go over the cab. We used old matressess to cushion the parts.
Carl moved his T-6 that way from texas to arizona.

I have the section from the manual if you want them, just email me.
