Dave Bauer R.I.P.

My good friend, Dave Bauer, of Bellevue, Washington passed away on 9 Oct 08 after a battle with cancer. He was a member of the Cascade warbirds and had a beautiful T-28, along with a couple other planes.

Dave was a retired AF Reserves C-141 pilot and retired from Delta. He leaves a wonderful wife and kids behind. You couldn't find a better guy than Dave or a better family. I wish I could be at his funeral on Tuesday, but I'll still be overseas.

Tailwinds Dave, the world was a better place with you in it.

So sorry for your loss Brad. Sounds like he was a great guy. My thoughts & prayers go out to his friends & family.

I never met Dave but hearing about him at the Cascade Warbirds meeting yesterday he sounded like a wonderful person.

Sounds like there will be a memorial flyover for him on Tuesday with a Skyraider, 2 Texans and Bud flying his T-28.

Holy sh+t Brad. I had no idea and am just blown away.
Dave was just a cool guy!! Friendly, fun be be around, postitive
attitude, great stick and loved flying. It was a treat to fly with him in his T-28 and in formation with the B-25.
What a loss and I can only imagine what his family is going through. They'll get a extra prayer tonight.

I knew that Stoney and can't for the life of me figure out why I typed United! I thought about it after takeoff from Rota this evening but it was too late to fix it! It's fixed now though!

Im stunned! Dave was a friend of mine and I first meet him at Arlington in 2004. What a great guy with lots of go go go! We had many of conversations thru the years regarding T-28 systems.
I will miss my fellow warbird pilot !

Damm, I have 2 freinds with less than 6 months to live with cancer and one just died of a stroke...

Sad news, Brad, tough not to get there, but then this is another place to pay respects.

It's no comfort but cancer can be seen evidence that you've beaten some other odds. In the bad old days cancer wasn't a problem, because you'd not live long enough to get it.

I guess most of us would be grateful to be well remembered, as Dave Bauer obviously is. Nothing beats having made someone smile.

Dave brought his T-28 up to BLI for our fly-ins at least a couple times a year. Great guy; he will be missed.

Our thoughts are with his wife and kids.

I didn't know Dave, never met him. But, after reading the posts on this thread I sure wish I would have known him......he justs sounds like a heck of a nice guy.......and someone who made friends easily. He definitely will be missed!
