Ah, the Convair Tradewind! Interesting machine that you don't hear much about. Anyone else remember that cheesy box-scale model that Revell put out back in the early 1960s? It's still available in re-release.

If you like the Tradewind, check out these links to the LIFE photo site. Radio Controlled Tradewinds and jet Seaplane models used for testing designs.
