I thimk(sp!) the photo is posted in reverse......one airdale has his watch on his right hand, the prop rotation is reversed, the green wingtip light is on the left wing, the pitot tube is on the left wing and something else..............hmmmm? Ah yes! The current in the bay is upstream (rimshot).
Great pix...love the color!!

That "2" looks properly oriented to me.

I would think Vlado is correct, the image is reversed. Otherwise the "V5" is a "Lambda 2" which is not a USN marking that I know of. Looks like a nice fresh AC being hauled aboard. Anyone recognize the harbor?

Yes, the image is indeed reversed. The top left wing should have the US insignia. The photo is taken at NAS San Diego (aka North Island) as I recognize the hanger on the extreme LH of the photo. It still is in existance. See google.earth 32 deg 42' 47.33" N x 117 deg 12' 03.17" W

Cluvara - did you have the correct orientation photo or did you reverse the originally posted image? If you reversed it, I'd like to know how as I have a number of scans of reversed prints I'd like to correct.

Thanks for any help! Mark

Just did it in photoshop real quick... As posted above, most photo editing software, even the basic ones can reverse photos.
