Is the Red Bull P-38 still over at Cavanaugh?

Last Tuesday [sept 23rd] it was back at Ezell's for some maintainence and a new set of tires. [lots of take offsand landings with all the test flying]. I ask when Red Bull was planning on shipping it, and they didn't really know. I hope it's a while, I like going over and seeing it now and then.

There is a two-seat A-4 hiding behind Ol 927 in the hanger today, 10-06-08. Couldn't tell much more about it other than the tail code; 3524. From what I could see, it looks really nice.

Would have liked to have seen it out in the sunshine.

The A-4 you saw is owned by the Collings Foundation.

Is Ol' 927 back at Addison? I'd love to run by there and have a look in person! :D

Cheers!

Yes Dean, Ol' 927 is currently back at CFM.

And we are not trying to hide the CF A4, its just that we got a bit tight on space with everything coming back from Midland. Then we had aircraft that required service, and had to get aircraft ready for an airshows at Vance AFB on Friday/Saturday, so the maintenance staff haven't really had any spare time to re-arrange hanger 3 so that all aircraft are more easily viewed.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that y'all were trying to hide anything.

Just letting folks know that it was there. Ya' know, something different that some one might want to go over there and check out.

Rick,

I hope my comment didn't come across the wrong way.....maybe I could have chosen my words better.

We love having the A4 at the museum.

It's a bit like a foreign student exchange (only neither of us has to learn a foreign language!).

I believe that the temporary relocation of the A4 to the Cavanaugh Flight Museum is a huge benefit to both of us. It shows that our two independent organizations have a good close working relationship, it builds on the bonds we already have, it promotes public awareness of both the Cavanaugh Flight Museum and The Collings Foundation, whilst also giving some our local patronage the chance to see something different at the museum.

I think it is has turned what was a weather related “evacuation” into a win-win situation.

Julian, I didn't take anything the wrong way at all. I think it's a positive thing too, but, having said that, it's time for her to come home. We don't want to overstay our welcome.

On the other hand, we are happy that we could add so much class to the Cavanaugh Flight Museum !
