Mon Feb 16, 2009 2:20 pm

Here's a slide from my Dad's collection I thought I'd share with everyone. C-97 at Lages Airfield in the Azores, August 1952.

Great photo. I'm not certain how anything shaped like that can be attractive, but it is to me. They look nice without the boom and wing tanks.

Thanks, Jerry!

Great photo, Jerry!
My Dad was on the air tanker portion of the C-97 program right at that exact time. I have a lot of interesting stories and I'm sure you do too.

Jerry!

That looks like it could be the BAHF fleet, judging by the nose of that C-54E to the right!

I hope that fuel truck has enough fuel for that thirsty machine!

Hi Kevin;
Actually, I got more with the C-54 also.
When I get a chance I'll post those too.

BTW, talked to Tim last week. A couple of us Airdales may be stopping down in the next two or three weeks for a visit.
Dying to see the C-97!
Blue skies,
Jerry
