January 1945

After returning from 2 weeks of leave the 393rd Bombardment Squadron begins high altitude, single bomb drop training in earnest in Wendover, Utah. Col. Thomas Classen is assigned as the Deputy Commander of the 509th CG and directs the training operations.

For Col Rohr: Lt Cmdr Fredrick Ashworth USN, is stationed in Wendover as part of "Project Alberta" - but finds the enviorns a bit, lacking??, and soon transfers to Los Alamos and a nicer duty station.
