. . . or, what is left of them:
Winona, MN:
I routed through Winona yesterday, and visited the Max Conrad Airport there.
The Technical School has discontinued their Aviation program. From what I understand, the aircraft were sold to someone in the same airfield.
Last time I saw these airplanes (in 2000), they were indoors [inside the hangar that can be seen in the background in a couple of the pictures] and were in general terms, in good shape. I recall for example, the USCG HH-?? helicopter to be a complete airframe, with all the instruments and parts in place.
The Cessna 305-A is in a sorry state. The instrument panel is gutted, and so is the interior, but it is not that far gone, that some $$ and lots of TLC could not bring it back to flying.
The T-33 is showing the effects of time and weather . . . and so is the Hiller.
Saludos,
Tulio
