Hi Guys,

I know that the story of Dean's Mustang is in this month's Flight Journal, and of course, Dean's story and Mustang are in the Warbird Digest, (Thank you so much Tim!) All of you are much more knowledgable than I when it comes to Warbird publications, soooooo......

If any of you know of any other publications that are currently, or in the future, feature any information on either the Mustang, or on Dean, could you please either PM me, or contact me via email? I want to continue to collect everything that is written on this Mustang. My oldest son is a History major in college, and I know Dean's legacy will be preserved with him, long after I'm gone, so I want to give him as much as I can.

I thought of something last night and I wanted to address it here, for any of you who may be uncomfortable by my always referring to 43-12252, as Dean's Mustang, I do apologize. I know that she is Jack Roush's Mustang, but to me she will always be Dean's, and that is why I refer to her as such. I mean absolutely no disrespect to either Mr. Roush, or Bud Anderson. Col. Anderson is a true american hero, and I would never intentionally slight him in any way.

Thanks in advance for any information any of you may be able to offer.

Karen

I don't think that anyone on here would ever take your post as disrespectful. You should think of it as Dean's Mustang.

Hi Karen,
I wrote a small piece which came out in the August or September issues of Aircraft Illustrated (can't remember at this second, and I am in San Francisco at the moment). I can scan a copy of it for you if you'd like when I return home. Very sorry to hear about your Dad by the way. I can't imagine how that must feel.

All the best,
Richard

Hello Karen,
Air Classics and Mustangs International (Challenge Publications) have both run recent articles on your uncle's Mustang. Let me know if you can't find them.

Karen

We (Classic Wings) did a short news story on the P-51, PM me your address.
Also the latest Flypast has a feature on the aircraft, but there is really no mention of Dean.

regards
Dave
