I was recently traveling across the country and decided to avail myself of the opportunity of stopping by Kindred N.D. to see Mr Odegaards Super Corsairs. They were just bolting on one of the outer wing panels when I got there and making adjustments to it. They have finished skinning the outer panels and have deleted the gun doors. It also looks like they're working on getting all the stuff put back in the center section.
The pics are linked from my gallery at papermodelers.com and I will be posting more as I get the time. I also took some rough measurements of the plane and will be posting them as well. They are not extremely accurate but my interest is from the model designers point of view and once I scale those measurements down the errors become insignificant.
Casey Odegaard showed me around and was very informative. For instance he said that #74 had a standard Corsair prop and not the 14 foot one that #57 has. And that they are restoring all the modifications that were made to it for racing.
Probably the biggest treat was getting to sit in #57. They had all the paneling off it forward of the firewall and looked like they were doing some engine work as they also had the cooling baffles off the engine.
They are also working on their mustang that crashed at Oshkosh last year. They said they were working on the wings in their other shop and you can see the fuselage in some of the pics I'll be posting.
