Oh now that is just too doggone cool!

I saw the Windsor Lanc a couple of times when she was up onna stick. Glad to see she's getting some TLC. Do they have an indoor display space for her once she's finished?

The original plans that I heard were to have FM212 restored to taxiable condition and have a new Museum built to house her on the airport property.

A very good turn out today.

It was nice meeting Jeff Hunt for the first time today. One of the Lancaster people told me pretty much what Dave said. They would like to get the interior back to it's original wartime condition and have the aircraft where it will be able to taxi. It will not be flown.

What a great looking event. I'm glad to see the progress on FM212!

It makes me want my own Lancaster to restore! ;)

Thanks for posting those pictures!

Cheers,

David

Thanks for the double shout out guys. You both left a bit early. The CWH B-25 came in about 12:30 and did a couple of great fly bys followed shortly by Mike Potter taking his Spitfure up for 20 minutes or so to do a fly by along the Detroit River to honour an RCAF member who has gone west. He did one nice trip down the runway before bringing her back to earth.

Anyway, here are a few pics from yesterday.

I'm not trying to start another thread war here, but is it just me or does that roundel on the right wing seem overly large, especially compared to the left wing?

The roundel is in the correct proportion it is just that all Starboard wings on Spitfires are bigger than the Port.

I'm glad to get an update on happenings up north, with great photos as part of the bargain! It's good to see two Lancs holding down the same piece of apron.

A question about the mid-upper turret on FM213--did any Martin-turret equipped Lancasters see combat?

Thanks all!
Scott
