Monday, the opening day was pretty nice. Good weather, blue skies, light winds, just slightly hot. Not much warbird flying, no show today. There were one after the other acro acts which mostly sound the same, about like a chain saw engine running next to your ear without oil in the bearings.
Last night was the warbird party at the nature center and I got to visit with lots of guys, Paul of T33 one of them. You see many old familiar faces and lot's of new ones.

I'm sorry, but I don't like "Aeroshell square". Give me the good ole days when warbirds were ALL parked in the warbird area. Seeing beautiful, flyable aircraft crammed in there among vendor tents...might as well visit a museum.

Still, can't wait for Thursday, see some of you there!

Rich

I don't mind Aeroshell Square but I do wish we had all the Warbirds in our area like the good ol' days.

I did bring my camera, but I don't know how to put photos on the internet to WIX. There will be lot's of better photographers here. The P-51 Happy Jacks Go Buggy is spectacular, a big candidate for best in show. That Mk V Spitfire down at show center is pretty neat too and rare. The only thing I'd change on it, beside the 24 volt system is me in the cockpit. It is only 5300lbs, has about 1400 horsepower, and I'll be it is really easy to fly, not to mention very nice looking, almost too pretty to be a weapon. I am at the hotel window and a Mustang just flew by after takeoff from Fon du Lac. I had breakfast with Steve Atkin, Carol, and a friend from UK.

Pretty soon the question is going to be, "Is there something that Rod Lewis does not own?" :D

I wonder if Rod Lewis is going to make a big logo so everyone knows which airplanes are his. :hide: Just kidding.
