With the holiday upon us once again, everyone will be running here and there and traveling to different parts of the country to celebrate our nation's birthday. I want to say happy 4th to everyone and PLEASE have a safe holiday! Now, isnt it amazing just how many people out there dont have a clue to this Declaration of Independence related question; during what war was the Declaration of Independence spirited out of Washington DC by none other than Dolley Madison?

First thing's first. Happy July 1st to everyone, and have a great time celebrating our nation's birthday. If you have any beer left over from Canada Day and want to use it to celebrate U.S. Independence Day, just dilute it 50-50 with water.

Dolly Madison? Makers of fine baked goods. Zingers are my personal favorite.

Oh wait, you mean Dolley Madison. Now, isnt it amazing just how many people out there, who like to point out the ignorance of others, don't know how to spell that?

Ooops, I should not have started celebrating the holiday so far in advance and so early in the day.

No problem! Just gotta wait your turn is all! Although in my neck of the woods, we used to merge the 1st and 4th into a binational "freedom festival," which was nice. The highlight for me was always the display of Spitfire aerobatics over the river between the two countries. Some other folks preferred the fireworks, or so I heard.

BTW, I believe historians have lately learned that it was actually Dolley's slaves who saved the DoI and other goodies. I do savor a side dish of irony with my history.

I'll be spending part of my 4th of July touring the Chanute Air Museum in Rantoul, Illinois.

Now that is just not politically correct for you to always win. It gives the Stearmans an inferiority complex that they will never overcome. The goverment must mandate that every other year you should let them win. And maybe throw a UPF-7 in every once in awhile.

Happy Canada Day, and may all your Lysanders be brightly painted. ;)
