This aircraft was RESTORED to the FAA registry on 16th June 2008, but the status is being listed as 'In Question' and this USAAF serials is supposed to be serial originally allocated to the P-51D which is now 'Cottonmouth' N151DP and is 44-10755

The registeration was previously revoked?

Can anyone explain what this all means?

Thanks

Some time after N6325T was "sold" to El Salvador the registration was revoked, either by the FAA through triannual reports or by Trogden.

Many paperworks from wrecked P-51s are still sitting idle with different people. And will be sold when someone needs them for a project. And I will venture a guess, and say that we will in some time see a P-51D fly with this serial#. I note from the FAA site that the applicant is a Brent Meester from Fargo, ND. Perhaps a Beck/ Odegaard Mustang project...?

As for the in question part, you can see that Meester applied for a 120 day extention to this reservation in late March. It has now expired!

Meester also have ex Jay Wisler id. A68-603 (N3024T) registered at present.

You will find other P-51s with the same deal. N90338 is using the id. of the first N1451D which went in from 20000ft killing all five aboard in 1964. Re-added to the USCAR a few years back. Maybe a project being rebuilt somewhere.
