Info? manuals? parts? sources? of Henderson-heath B4 engines

Wed Jul 23, 2008 6:26 pm

.
I have posted this on the vintage forum, but post it here as well as many of the warbirders have interests in, and knowledge of vintage and civil aviation as well.

I was wondering if anyone has any information, manuals, parts or leads on Henderson-Heath converted aero engines?

at the risk of incurring the wrath of a certain spad driver, have you asked the EAA for this information? What with pober's connection and all. (just don't ask for a wrist band is all I'm saying . . .

Lots of information on the Henderson engines. Most of it is wrapped up with vintage motorcycle literature. Start here:

If you are planning to run it, I recommend a thorough overhaul. Henderson motors are wonderful when they are running right. When they are putting rods through the side wall and making themselves worthless, they are very frustrating...

Hey, don't mess with the Spad driver- he owns an Indian so he can't be all that bad...

You may also want to try and contact Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. I know at one time they had several Henderson engines and even planned on putting one into the Heath Parasol my Dad used to fly. Whether they did or not I couldn't tell you but I would imagine they had manuals and stuff for the engines.
