Blimp Hanger after the war S.Carolina

The airship sheds at Lemoore NAS?

It was probably worth less than a $250,000 in 1945s, but just imagine what it would be worth today.

Then again with that many Corsairs and that many Hellcats, they wouldn't be that rare, and would probably be relatively in expensive. A warbird in everyones' driveway! haha..

Cheers,

David

Am I imagining things or are the Hellcats in the immediate right foreground four-bladed F6F-6's?

Wouldn't that be something if someone forgot to empty one of those hangars...

Impressive image

After some scrutiny, I think the four-blade birds are Curtiss SC-1 Seahawks with the optional wheeled landing gear. Now THAT's a rare bird.

Hey Steve I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the Seahawk didn't have folding wings.

That last image was the one I cropped and included in my post. 8)

Kind of an ugly bird..I've got a model kit of one I'll have to slap together sometime.

Does anybody know if an SC-1 is preserved anywhere?
