OK gary its your turn!!! We have seen the pics of connie's place and other remote locations of TX and abroad with hoards of airplane parts. Now you post that you own a F-101 and we all know about the DC-3 section and the PBY that roost at your place. Now you post pics of landing gear................WHERE ARE ALL THE PICS!!!!!!! WE as WIXERS want you to fess up!!!! :prayer: Who is with me??

Its really all just a bunch of "junque." Much of it is stuff that was literally going to just be thrown away, but I just couldn't see that happening. Interestingly, sometimes in the pile of junk are a few trinkets that have some value. Kind of like panning for gold, I reckon......most of the time you just get gravel, but sometimes you get gold. It all comes from the same pile, and it's all the same age, but some of it just has more appeal than the others.

As far as pictures go, I'm actually too embarassed to show too much of my place. I'm just plain ol' Southern White Trash...only I don't have a Camaro up on blocks in the yard, I've got airplane parts laying all over the place. And I literally mean, all over the place. I've got an oil tank and landing gear in my front yard, I've got Griffons on one side, Voodoo parts and a helicopter carcass on the other. That's not to mention the piles of stuff laying around the rest of the property and in the barn. (There's been a few WIXers come by here, so y'all can back up what I'm saying, right?)

You'll just have to come visit sometime. And heck, bring a trailer...I may just load it up with stuff for you to take home as well. ;-)

Gary

Yup, an eclectic mix of airplane parts. We haven't been out to the Acres for over a year, but I'd imagine it's even more fun to tour now than it was then.

Show 'em that cool shot of the PBY and windmill again, Gary.

What Voodoo parts do you have? There is a F-101 at Ellington that would be a nice candidate for restoration, but it is missing smoe parts.

I don't have any, but I believe there will be a thread up on WIX soon, that will show some. Fellow WIXer, Viking73, came out and helped me work on the F-105, and while he was there, I'm pretty sure he got some interior photos of the Voodoo. Just keep your eyes open for a new thread later today.

If it would be of any help, Gary, I know a guy or two that have Camaros sitting on cinder blocks, and I could ask them to help you re-decorate your place. Heck, they may throw in a couple of ol' fridges and a washer, plus a flamingo, to spice your place up. :D :D :D :D

IMHO, Austin Acres should be part of the Must See Places in Texasdom. :D

Saludos,

Tulio
