Gents hi

I'm in the early stages of a painting of a couple of P-47's taking off.

Despite looking at reference material I still have a couple of questions.

1. It seems that on WWII era P-47's the main undercarriage comes up one leg slightly before the other. Is this correct and was it always the same leg first ? The best ref I can find shows the port wheel up while the starboard one is still about 1/2 way down.

2. At what time did the leg compression take place shortening the overall
length of the leg ?

3. Did the inner door start to close before the wheel was in the well, or did it remain vertical until the wheel was up ?

4. If the main undercarriage was halfway up, where would the tail wheel be, already up, or still retracting, or not yet even started ?

5. Anything else I should be aware of.

Please keep in mind I'm depicting 1944/45, so I'd like to be accurate to that timeframe

All help appreciated

Thanks

Pete
