Final NTSB report on Oskhosh '07 Mustang collision out.

Mon Jul 07, 2008 4:46 am

Just a link if anybody is interested:

No need to dredge this all out again or assess blame. There are a lot of pilots here, myself included, and this just illustrates the importance of having good pre-flight briefs, and good communications so everyone is on the same page.

Flying is an inherently dangerous business and it can get even the most experienced and seasoned pilots. Let's learn from this and be safe.

In case some of you haven't seen it, you should get the DVD "The Restorers", just to get to know Gerry Beck a bit, albeit postumously. I never knew him, but wished now that I had. Him taxiing in the Corsair like a kid bouncing around the cockpit is just precious. R.I.P. Gerry.

He's in the Racing Reno DVD a bit as well.

I've got decals coming eventually for Precious Metal.

I have the Racing Reno DVD as well. It is probably one of the best aviation DVD's that I've ever bought. The aerial footage is simply outstanding! A lot of the footage is outtakes from the semi-completed "Thunder Over Reno" movie about the Reno Air Races. Most of the footage was taken from a gyro-stabilized helicopter platform, hovering high above the Reno race course. We get to see a lot of aerial footage of both Gerry's A model and Race # 57, Bob's Super Corsair as well.

For some reason the website for ordering this DVD is not working, but it was:

http://www.racingreno.com/

I hope they haven't stopped selling this precious gem, as it was the best DVD I've ever purchased. The visual quality is simply stunning!

I noticed that too. It's looks like it's still available at Historic Aviation.
