Winds were blowing hard yesterday (Saturday, 28 June) at the St. Charles Airport (Don't know which one, but it was not at Smartt).

Thus, the scheduled parachute jump by re-enactors, was postponed for today, Sunday, at 1300.

The photos below, were shot by Capt. Al Rivera.

Good luck with the jump!

Looks like it'll be a good show.

Cheers,

David

I went up as a photog on that flight, it sucks that it was scrubbed, but......

Today, the winds were gusting upwards of 30kts. The jump plane went up to try and get a jump in for the 519PIR (that's probably the incorrect unit) veterans....

The rain started, and I stood out in the drop zone with my cameras, I knew the deal wasn't over just yet. 8)

The Great Lakes' Squadron C-47/DC-3 droned towards the drop zone as the rain stopped. And in that split second, God made his presence known. He brought the sun out, and dropped the winds down to 2kts

The whole group of reenactors made the jump today, as you could here the vets cheering with their families. A truly awe-inspiring moment...

Look for coverage in a Warbird Digest sometime!!!

Trey

That airport at St. Charles, MO, was 3SQ.

Weather was not too hot. Thank goodness.

Great Photos.

Jump team was Commemorative Airborne Jump Team.

Looking forward to working with them again this summer.

Thank you.

I think Trey Carroll shot the jump from the ground. He is on this thread.
