Computer for dummies needed again. You guys have helped me before. Remember, I like large displacement piston engines that spit oil, not electrons.

How does one post an avatar photo? Can it be done without Scott's help? (Like you dont have enough to do already Scotto.)

Look at the top right of this page for "profile". Click that then look at the bottom of the profile page for "avatar control panel". I just cropped and resized a shot in Photoshop (to 100x100 pixels as directed) then used the "browse" button to establish the link and it was done. Only took a few minutes -- watch the file size though...

If you have a photobucket account just select the photo and click on resize to avatar. They made that for nimrods like myself. Then just copy and paste the link to the proper box on the profile control panel.

Thanks Jack. Now I just have to dig around and see if I can remember my Photobucket password.

Well, that takes real wisdom to answer. I guess I'll help anyhow...

In your profile put some text in the box to the right of this statement:

Quote:
Signature:
This is a block of text that can be added to posts you make. There is a 1000 character limit

Duh okay. The word 'signature' to me conjures up an image of one's name written in script. Why cant computer stuff be in plain language?
Thanks for the quick reply.

Remember to keep your snipit to 1000 words or less.
Why some folks put their entire resume there I don't understand   :?

Hmmm. Not yet. Oh well, on to other hangars. My 3 1/2 r. old grandson likes getting a.net ecards printed in the snail mail. Gotta go.

Jack and Neal,
I figured how to resize the image for avatar but I can't operate the 'crop' function to edit the original image. Very frustrating but I appreciate you guys' patience with me. Electrons are not my friends.

In the meantime, I'm going to try again to post photos to a thread, so my next posting may not make sense.

Doug
