I attended the member meeting for Genesee Warbirds in Batavia, NY last week. They had one of their recent donations available for viewing, a Mig-15 UTI. The plane was donated and is in quite good shape but obviously needs some assembly and work. They're also working on a land-lease with the airport and county in order to get a large hangar constructed so all of the aircraft can be located in one hangar as opposed to numerous rented spaces throughout the airport.

Also pulled out for viewing was the group's Vampire.

Would you know if there is a open-house or fly-day this year planned for this year?

Funny you should ask as I just asked in a PM. Here is what I have in my notes...

2x CM-170
DH-100 single seat
DH-100 dual seat
3x HA-200
MiG-15UTI

...unfortunately there are no serial numbers.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

I have not heard of them planning on any open house at this point but will keep everyone posted if there is one planned. They will have a couple of aircraft on display at the Rochester, NY airshow in July.

Here's what I have on the aircraft:

Aircraft - N-Number - Serial

HA-200 - N922BB - E.14A-22
HA-200 - N631HA - E.14A-31
HA-200 - N3180T - HA-20-91
DH-100 - N6878D - RCAF17072
Mig 15 - N7800W - 1A06011 (you can still see where the 011 was on the nose)
CM-170 - N19JV - FM-39
CM-170 - N907DM - 269

pilots from Genesee Warbirds displayed two HA-200s, one CM-170 and an L-29 at the Rochester, NY air show last weekend. Great classic jets and a good show.

I am told that Genesee Warbirds will be open for public viewing on their aircraft on Saturday August 9, 2008, from 10 am. until 2pm. It is really nice to see a flying museum dedicated to Classic Jet Warbirds.

Batavia seems to be back on the radar as far as warbirds are concerned. The airport has been dead since 1995 when the then national warplane museum move out. I hope Genesee County and the Batavia Airport manager have enough vision to support these guys. It would be great to see Batavia back in the warbird movement.
