Just wondering if anyone knows what happened to his aircraft. Here's shots of the Spitfire and Mustang in his hangar in the late 1970s, maybe early 1980s.

I believe that and the Corsair in there belonged to the New England Air Museum.

An interesting shot of the Spitfire.
It is Mk XIV TZ138

Those photos were taken at the New England Air Museum's hangar pre-1979.
They were on temporary loan and the museum did a cosmetic restoration to the Spit. The Mustang was a flyer and I believe at one point Len sold the P-51 and later repurchased it. At one point, it had a forced landing due to an engine failure in North Carolina. Landed on a highway and chewed up a station wagon in about 1973-74.

The Spit is also unique in that it raced in the Tinnerman Trophy (or Bendix, I'm getting old!) Race. I think that's why NEAM was really interested in it as they have a pretty nice collection of original Racers. SEE:

I've got slides of this Spit in the temporary Camo Paint when it was on display at NEAM. Just haven't scanned them.

BTW; Len's Hurricane went to Lone Star many years ago and his ex: Royal Canadian Navy, ex: Simsbury, CT, bug sprayer Avenger fuselage became Corky Meyers aircraft. Both were restored and flying. (Hurri until recent the mishap)
I don't know about the others and Len did have a yellow T-28 that he flew for many years. Not sure where that is now.
