Warbird Information Exchange

I've always been interested to know what kind of vintage warbirds have survived in the crazy hermit kingdom of North Korea. I've seen a few images of some pretty torn up U.S. Navy planes in one of their museums but what else might still exist? They had lots of Yak-9s and La-7s and they seem to hang on to all sorts of older hardware like Yak-17s and Il-28s so maybe there's a chance of finding some stuff in one of their airport junkyards. Some interesting stuff turned up in the junkyards of Iraq and Afghanistan so who knows? I've re-tasked my private spy satellite (Google Earth) and found some strange stuff. Sorry, I don't know how to link to them.

Seriosly, I have commented before, but the SOUTH Koreans have some interesting tidbits socked away on Chedu-Do. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the North Koreans don't have their own stash of goodies. Too bad we'll never see them, or if we do they'll be long since rotted out.

IIRC Sir Tim Wallis was looking at some wrecks in the 90s of US piston types, so some there I think.
Indiana Tony had pulled up some sat. images on the old board, but I can't be bothered searching for them ....they were indistinct, but certainly could be aircraft.........

I remembered how to save a Google Earth image and post it via Photobucket. On the image of Taechon's airfield below, you can see these smaller types but I'm not sure what they are. They are just as likely to be CJ-6s as they anything more interesting like Yak-9s. Still, I'd love to know what they are.
