Wade,
My late former next door neighbor flew with a 4th ace in Korea
who was KIA. They were flying F-51s with the 39th FIS.
I can't remember his name. Fill in the blanks and
post the photo!

Remembered! Major Sheldon Monroe from Georgia KIA 1951.
He was hit by flak and crash landed and was able to crawl out of the
cockpit but died from wounds on the wing off his 51. Alex
napalmed the wreckage to keep the Chinese was getting his body.

Yes, Monroe was KIA in Korea. Gerald E. "Monty" Montgomery was also KIA in Korea, though the details are still sketchy I believe. IIRC, he's never been found. His daughters were at the 2002 60th Anniversary of the 4th Fighter Group meeting in Dayton when we dedicated the monument that is at the NMUSAF memorial gardens. That monument was designed by Don Allen, and we called it his last piece of 'art' for the Fourth!
