So of the ones in production, the first has been at Ione for the last 2 years being completely rebuilt AFAIK, the second one is now flying in Germany, number 3 (?Collings) - status unknown (is it still under construction?) and number 4 presumably is the static one they mention.

Keep your panties on, any waiting will be rewarded, few seem to be flogging WIX about the HELLDIVER project-
I'd rather hang out and see what positives come out of this instead of wild speculations and rumors that are red herrings or outright falsehoods

Once upon a time, I was up to my armpits in PV-2 guts, when a "helpful" tire kicker visiting the hangar asked, "How come this plane isn't flyable yet? Didn't they used to build like ten of these A DAY?"

The only response I could think of was to hand him what I was holding and respond, "Sir, if you can make this go back together any faster, please show me."

He left quietly.

Back in the Mid Eightys Thier was a Co in Fort Worth Texas a Mecham Airport Was building Classic War birds from patterns form orignials and at that time they were building F3F's I belive that one of these ended up at the Loan Star Flight Museum, Any way Their was a M262 in sections in the back part of the Hanger. I understand that one of the Ram Rods had work in the Messerschmitt Aircraft Production during the War. My ? is what M262 is this ? I understand that they were going to make 4 or 5 Copies is that true ? and after that project they were going to make P-38's  Is their any truth to this Texas story ?

It's a long and tortured story on how the project wound up in the Pacific Northwest, read Wolf Czlas new book on being the 262 test pilot for the sanitized version of how things evolved
