Lt. D. L. Luthon and crew in front of Outhouse Mouse of the 91st BG. A good-luck ship, she was a -25-BO G-model, coded OR-N. Her 'claim to fame' is that she was the first heavy bomber to be attacked by a German jet (16th August/Me 163). Major damage was avoided by severe jinking by the pilots (Lt. W. Mullen crew). A second Me 163 came up and stayed just out of range on her tail for a full two minutes before being shot down by Mustangs. Her final tally was 139 missions completed in roughly one solid year of ops, including twelve trips to Berlin.
