The Museum of Flight at Boeing Field has received its new "Oscar." The aircraft was installed on Wednesday.

This is the old one, now reportedly on it's way to Pima.

Thanks for posting, Curtis. I like the extra details (especially the drop tanks). Very nice.

But Pima?

No offense meant to the good folks of Arizona, but I was patiently expecting the "old" Ki-43 to return this way (as originally indicated by EAA).

Any idea on why the change of plans? Maybe this was the plan all along?

That info came from a docent at the museum. Take it as you may.

The Oscar arrived at Pima last Friday. The decision to move it here was made by its owners at the Smithsonian. I don't know why it didn't go back to the EAA unless they decided they didn't want it. I know the EAA have been altering their museum display focus to look more at homebuilts and so on, so that may be why. Can't really say I'm sorry since it means we finally have an important Japanese aircraft to display.

Pretty convincing for a replica! Now that's one airplane that has absolutely no business being grounded and never flying again! It has ZERO historical worth, so it should be flying!

Wow, combined with Paul Allen's Oscar, that makes 2 in Seattle (if you count replicas).

Where is she going to be displayed? I hope it's inside.

Is that the Oscar that was test flown last year?

There was a photo of a new build Oscar actually flying in a magazine last year. Is it the same?

It's funny... Scott and I saw it being trucked to Seattle as we were on our way to Chino for the show two weeks ago. It was at a rest stop and unfortunately we blew past it before we could exit. I would have gotten off at the next exit and looped around if it hadn't been for the fact the next exit was something like 20 miles ahead.

Quick assembly!

It will be displayed in Hangar 4 with the B-29.

No, different aircraft from the same source.
