Found this on the web. Anyone interested in getting this gem airworthy?

It's interesting to note the similarities between the AIDC T-CH-1 Chung Hsingwhich was a development of the T-28 built in China.

Very interesting. I had heard that someone was restoring a standard T-28 into YAT-28E configuration, and rememer seeing an article on it. This project purports to be one of the original prototypes. I had no idea any survived. Can anyone shed any details on either of these projects, or are they really one and the same?

Vernicator, you are right that the Taiwanese T-28-derived trainer looks almost identical at first glance to the YAT-28E. I wonder how close they were from a technical perspective.

Cheers,
Richard

From my memory the big problem was the gear case and the project was stalled until one of the 2 built could be located.

Not likely I am afraid

Yes its true that this plane is genuine. The owner of C&J aviation is a friend of mine named Mr.Chuck Smith. At one time he had 2 YAT-28 airframes that were more or less complete .I saw both of them in person and have thought what a great, powerful plane this would be.So if ya want it,its there and genuine.
Tim.

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.

S: Took hammer away from midget.

Can't you just swap in an Allison? There seems to be a lot of them around being plunked into Bonanzas.
