Valkyrie movie featurette (German warbirds and Tom Cruise)

Wed Nov 07, 2007 2:44 pm

Spotted this online this morning -- a behind-the-scenes look at filming of the Tom Crusie lead movie about the plot to assasinate Adolf Hitler.

Of special interest to WIXers are numerous shots of vintage Luftwaffe aircraft (not CGI stuff). I spotted a couple of Me109s (or Buchons), two or three Ju 52s (maybe only two with one later given a different paint scheme), and possibly the nose of an Me108. Perhaps somebody here can shed some light on the actual airframes being utilized by the production.

I just saw the preview on a dvd we rented. I was also curious as to what airframes are taking part in the film. I did notice on on of the 109s the stacks were located as if it had a DB powerplant.....

Also does Cruise still own P51D Montana Miss? And didnt he repaint it?

yes he owns a p-51
