-5 Corsair

Thu May 15, 2008 11:06 pm

The Bottom photo of the -5 running...I shot that Photo at the Dayton Airshow. I helped Mr. David Burnap with his Corsair for several years. He lives about 5 minutes away from me and kept the Corsair at Dayton General Airport. "MGY".

The photos at the top was when Bruce Lockwood and Alan Preston owned the Corsair. Looks like the photos where taken at Alan Preston hangar in Texas.

That Corsair now belongs to Mr. Raymond Thompson in Kalispell, Montana and has a "NP" on the tail with a stripe of white with Stars on the top of the rudder

Kinda miss that bare metal ring around the cowling!

That was classy in my opinion!

Cowling

The Cowling had been "Chromed".... not bare metal. Cleaned up real nice and easy ...!!! Also had a water injection pump on that squirted water into the Oil Coolers. This was put on when Alan Preston was running the Reno course with the Corsair. Helped at air shows to when you where sitting on the ground for a while.
