In and around the USA, starting with warbird vintage to now.
That is from the 1940's to present. And where and how they ended up missing, details of the searches etc.

"Fatal Army Air Forces Aviation Accidents in the United States, 1941 1945"
has a list of missing aircraft during that time frame.
If my quick count is right it is something like 78 aircraft are still missing from WW2 (or maybe declared missing just from the USAAC). Maybe some of those have been found.
I'm not sure beyond that.
