After much hard work the Collings Foundation A4 took to the skies Saturday. Unfortunately the Collings Phantom didn't :( But none the less here is a bit of the action.

Thanks guys, these aircraft are kept pristine and airworthy by a very dedicated cadre of volunteers. I get to help.

Front seater on these flights is Capt Eric Gerdes ( US Naval Reserve ) and the backseater is Russ Murphy. Our first student for our unusual attitude training flights. Russ got to learn first hand that the Scooter's reputation for being quick is well earned ! :D

While the Phantom didn't make its FCF, it did do a high speed and chute deployment. Seems we have a small glitch in our roll stability augmentation system. When checked after engine start it was found to be slightly out of tolerance. While a nuisance, it shouldn't delay our first post FOD flight for very long.
