B-17's waiting to fly?

I put the count of flying B-17's at 14, 15 if you count Boeing Bee which is basically airworthy but not flown (anyone know if it will again?)....I will not sit here and split hairs over such things as 'Texas Raiders' which is not CURRENTLY technically flying but has before and will again, and so I count it....so the question is....

How many are being worked on to fly in the Future, that are not AS YET flying currently?

I believe that the late Bob Pond's is another which is technically airworthy but not intended to be flown, like the Seattle one.

Being worked on -

Don Brooks' second one
Paul Allen's B-17E (?temporarily halted)
Ex-Greeley bar B-17
XC-108 'Desert Rat'
Urbana B-17 N3154S

Intended to be rebuilt in the future -

Ok, well, the ones I think are airworthy include:

Shady Lady
Texas Raiders
Miss Angela
909
Aluminum Overcast
Yankee Lady
Tallichet's Memphis Belle
Pink Lady
Sally B
Liberty Belle
Fuddy Duddy
Chuckie
Sentimental Journey
Thunderbird

and the aforementioned Boeing Bee which is airworthy but not flown...and someone mentioned that Pond's no longer flies? Miss Angela is it?

I don't know that they ever officially did...she just has a shady past with the CIA so they call Her unofficially 'Shady Lady'...

Only one I've flown in....but that's how I know she does fly...lol.

Technically, the POF B-17 (Picadilly Lily) is under a very SLOW restoration. We've pulled off panels and redone control surfaces.

The count I've been told by Wilbur Richardson (B-17 ball turret gunner and POF B-17 expert) is that there are 14 flying around the world and 6 under some type of restoration.

Can anyone provide me any more details on the former Greeley machine? Is it being restored to fly and by who/and where?

EVG's B-17G hasn't flown in years and needs the spar AD addressed among all the things
that go to pot after sitting so long.
Since Mike Wright left there's no one there to work on the a/c (the airworthy ones anyway).
I think the only way you'll see her in the air is under different ownership.
Lacy's B-17 is still rotting away and not under rebuild. Don't say they restored the nose :shock:

The Greely bar airplane will need a new set of wings(There are none)We will be manufacturing these parts for several of the planes under rebuild.It will take a loooooooooong time but t will happen.Major airframe parts aint too thick on the ground and when by chance you do find anything its usually pattern only material.

The Greeley bar plane is just a partial fuselage (from the nose to just past the ball turret and no wings as previously mentioned). It's a former movie prop and was very stripped. It did have the ball turret until not to long before it was removed. Another group bought the ball turret from the former owner of the bar.
