I bought the Corgi 1/32 diecast model of this Mustang not too long ago, and the seller included a bio and autograph of pilot Roger W. Moore. He was apparently the leading ace of the 7th Air Force and finished the war with 12 victories. The problem is that Corgi had a bad design for the packaging which left the fuselage insignias marred. After thinking about it, I thought, why not weather the plane a bit? make it more realistic? If anyone has any pictures or profiles of the aircraft, please post them. It would be GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks.

I've got some scans of some originals I had for a while before giving them back to the son of a 45th FS pilot I tracked down...
Shoot me an email.

I just wanted to say thanks for posting the pictures. I was really disappointed that the plane had paint missing from the insignias and didn't know what I was going to do...weathered (and possibly super-detailed) it will be!!! Thanks again,
Matt

Am looking through my files and hope to have the pictures for you as soon as I get a chance to use wireless internet (probably early next week). This will include the higher resolution version of the last picture Martin posted.
One other resource you should check with is
www.7thfighter.com. I know that there are more pictures there. From what I can tell, there were several variations between the markings at different times. Also, I have the Corgi Stinger VII as well - it was also badly packaged - and it doesn't quite match the pictures I've seen.
