It is a wind drift meter. You stick it out of the side of the fuselage and it has grids that you line up on ground objects passing by. It then will give you the angle of drift so you can get an idea of how the winds are treating you.

It is stuck thru a hole in the fuselage and then removed after the measured drift is marked.

Is there any water damage involved?

Thanks for the ID and how-to of the drift meter folks.

Never submerged.

Just missing the foam rubber eye piece, otherwise complete (as far as I know).

Only used once a month, by a little old lady, on Sundays for her trip to Berlin.

Dave,

Is this good enough to suit your needs?

It's not perfect (probably could use a good cleaning) and unfortunately I don't have the mounting stuff, but the movement on the mechanisms are smooth.

THATS NICE! I fabricate all parts needed from the blueprint, so remaking the mount is easy!

working on the card still too.

OK,
It's yours.

My terms are that it will be mounted in "Executive Sweet."

Send or post some photos when it's done.

If it's not used, I'd like it back.

P.M. me shipping info, and I can probably get it out next week. You might have to pay shipping (I have no money). I'll look into it.

sounds like a plan, give me a week to take the measurements off the blueprints and see if the mount will fit with student seats being in the airplane. Rick and I have talked about putting in the drift meter for awhile but never got around to trying. Maybe this is incentive!

Ill let you know!

-Thanks
Dave
