Did the Cavanaugh Flight Museum acquire a Caribou? If so which was is it? Is the one formerly operated by Army Aviation Heritage?

The AD-5 acquisition was announced here. The C-7 acquisition hasn't, but there were rumours floating around the area... :)

How do you get a 34' tail into a 29' 11" door?

Congrats to Cavanaugh on acquiring the Caribou. I got to see it at Muskegon in 2006, and was very impressed with the restoration work done on it. Nice to know it will be on good hands.

LOL!!!! That rig sure looks familiar..... For years, we had to do the same type thing to get the KC-135s in the Flight Test Hangar at Tinker AFB prior to modifying the doors. Lowered the mains, raised the nose strut extension to it's max and put the nose gear on a lift. Worked great....but there were a few accidents! Like the probe on the HF antenna being knocked off! Oops!
