Ellen and I were in Oklahoma City last weekend and wandered over to El Reno to photograph and crawl around on the A-26B-66-DL 44-34746 at their VFW Club. GARY HILTON started this thread thhttp://warbirdinformationexchange.org ... 177528read pertaining to the same subject last year:

The airplane is pretty much all there, with various dents and many coats of paint from the fifty years :!: of display. Here are some of the photos we took:

The airplane looks fairly nice from that distance, but it does have problems. This corrosion blow-out is inboard of the r/h nacelle at the aft spar.

It's in need of a little rigging help in the nose gear well, too!

The gun nose is complete and original:

The turret ring is evident in this shot:

This is the dedication plaque on the outboard side of the right nacelle, complete with some interesting model designations:

While I'm posting A-26 photos, here are a few of A-26C-40-DT 44-35627 at the Dodge City Municipal Airport entrance:

Enjoy!

A few years back there seemed like a lot of magazine articles on the A-26 and seemed like a lot were flying. But now I never hear anything of any A-26's flying? Did they all go static or something? :?:
