Capt George Birdsong 323rd BS 91st BG presents the Distinguished Flying Cross to the "Delta Rebel #2" for completing 25 Combat Missions on May 14, 1943. B-17F s/n 42-5077 OR+T was lost on Aug 12, 1943 on it's 33rd mission.
He flew in this a/c and received the AM.

He flew on a mission to Lae has a observer with the 22nd BG.
His B-26 aborted shortly after take-off but LBJ's buddies pushed through a Silver Star for his gallantry in action.
