No pictures but...
A WWII P-61 pilot was having fun handing out free red white and blue pinwheels to the kids at our PX.
Another vet was wheeled up by his son. This guy had an unlit cigarette in one hand.
The Pilot handed over the pinwheel with a goofy smile.
Then the wheel-chaired vet blew it and got it spinning fairly well and you would have thought Bob Hope just put on a USO show!

Better still a Mom showed up with her two boys and the older kid started asking about all the numbers on the Air Force patches.
I explained as best I could about having to divide the Air Forces because of size and locations and then for some reason it occurred to me to ask Ky, "Which Air Force were you in?"
"The 20th"
I told the lad that he was looking at a REAL DEAL WWII fighter pilot and about his bailing out behind enemy lines and making it back after six weeks of evading the Germans...
The kid proceeded to buy a 20th patch and better still, got Ky's autograph.

Suddenly I didn't feel so bad about farting around with the PX all weekend!

SPANNER

PS... Bill Greenwood's Spitfire was sounding mighty nice on his "missed approach"!!!
See y'all next weekend at Lone Star Flight Museums Air Show.

Spanner, the missed approach or go around was real, I was getting some downdraft near the ditch and getting too low, not the best way to make a good landing.
It was such a nice weekend, just wish we could have done a full show. Today I washed the plane with a lot of help from Bill Roach and it looks good. I don't have a camera with me, however.

Yeah, I've done a goaround on 15 after seeing some good looking golfers at IWS too!
