Why the T-34's??? Isn't it reasonable to save these non-combat aircraft for restoration projects?? Dam*nable U.S. Government!!

The wing & tail ADs kinda killed whatever market was left for them.

the dod or department of defense has lost face in recent years due to botched / crooked transactions where supposedly sensitive aircraft components got into the wrong hands after various auctions. as to the price of scrap metal.... there isn't a day that goes by where the local newspaper has stories of construction sites being robbed of copper tubing, high school bleachers literally stolen for the aluminum etc. the scrap metal business is booming, who can hardly blame them!! but it makes me sick to see all that aviation history becoming my next refrigerator!!

Not to mention the product liability to Ma Beech, and her sucessors. There is a gentlemens agreement between Hawker Beech and the Government not to let these aircraft into the civillian market. This goes to say that this will also be the case when the last of the T-34C's go to the desert also. We have sent Charlies to D-M with zero fatigue life left in the airframes.
