Spitfire Flight to Houston

I am in Tampa returning to Colorado after Sun N Fun. Right now I am trying to find my suitcase, which has either been stolen or at least diverted by TSA in Miami. Don't think they are going to find much of monetary value in there, but it is my stuff.
If all works out I hope to be at the Open House at West Houston airport, IWS on Sun. I might do a ride or two Sun eve or Mon morning. If interested send me a PM, and a phone number. Thanks
And try to avoid flying through Miami. I think that word is Spanish for "What you got is going to be ours" .

Every airport has a black hole for luggage; what goes in never comes out. It's part of the harassment policy of the airlines and TSA.

Catherine and I passed through Miami International Airport last month. We were snickering the acronym is M.I.A., Missing In Action. Kind of appropriate for your luggage Bill.

Luggage update, Fri am. A nice lady in Dallas at American says my bag was sent to L. A. by mistake. I think after TSA got done rifling it for valuables, and fondling my underwear, they sent it to L. A. for spite. It is supposed to be on the way back. Course I am leaving for Co. , so who knows.

When Aus meant Austin Mueller it was one of my favorite big airports, but now it is just a big impersonal airport outside of town. After Lone Star I may come back that way.
My bag did return from L A today, so got it and back to Co. just fine, there is now beautiful weather here , just windy.

I flew in to AUS one time. That hump in the middle of the runway can be deceptive, making the runway appear way too short. Is the snow starting to melt up your way yet, or are you still able to ski?

The last few times I've flown captive...er commercial, I've UPS'd most of my luggage to my hotel and only carried on board EXACTLY what would get me by for a day or two, like meds and spare glasses, etc. I also hit the local thrift shops for grubbing arouind stuff, shorts, tees, etc. for about $30 you can get a fair 'who cares' wardrobe and drop it back in the donations box as you head toward the aeropuerto-

Now I read in this mornings paper where the TSA nazis are getting training in 'creativemethods of determining of suspected evil dooers', great, just what we really need, the overpaid security guard rejects thinking 'creatively' as they rifle your underwear.

EXACTLY!! That's pretty much why, unless it's someplace I can't get to on my motorcycle, I'm really not very interested in flying on a smelly, overcrowded, late P.O.S. and I can't wait until some enterprizing marketing type thinks it would be a good idea to 'pass the hat' onboard to cover rising fuel prices.

Too late. US Scareways has already said they're going to start charging a $5 "premium" for most window and aisle seats for that exact purpose.

learned not to fly them several years ago on a business flight into SFO when our low flyby actually turned into a landing, kinda spooky to land South @ SFO and be 30 feet in the air and watching the terminal whiz past the left side, followed by a 'TAKE THAT EARTH!' touchdown, and an 'up on the right mains' turnoff then have the gate agent knock everyone standing off their feet when she 'located' the aircraft with the jetway.

Bill that is got to be the coolest thing I have read in a long time,just a pity I am a few, too many, thousand miles away to have a chance of taking you up on your offer!

We made it to West Houston this afternoon! With the help of Ed Lindsay in the rear cockpit, and very nice weather. 3:50 min of flying time, fuel stop in Dalhart and Breckenridge. And a nice dinner with CAF guys.
