Anyone have any pictures of F-4C 680 while stationed at UBON in 1967?

Thats the one. I have been to the 8th TFW website and looked at their photos. I was hoping someone out in the WIX world would possibly have a shoe box of pictures of the Phantoms at UBON. I want our Phantom to be as correct as possible (can't help that its a D not a C) in every other respect. We want the bird to be as close as 680 was when General Olds did the Bolo mission in her.

I have several 35mm slides I took on 20 May 1967 when Col Olds returned to Ubon after getting his 3rd and 4th Migs. I was fortunate to serve on his staff at the 8th TFW and be there to shake his hand when he returned. He was flying FY668 that day.
I have a Microteck ScanMaker 4850 scanner and the photos come out dark and grainy. That's why I was asking the wixers for recommendations on a better scanner so that I can post some of my collection.

Reference the second photo in Bob's post.(8tfw.com/images/mighntr.jpg), This photo is doctored and is probably not Col Olds Bolo mission aircraft.
The last three numbers of the aircraft tail number on our aircraft at Ubon were painted in three large bright red block shape numbers just below the twin taxi lights on the nose gear door. In fact the numbers were slightly larger than the taxi lights.
These numbers were there as a safety issue to make certain the weapons guys would be very aware they were loading weapons on the correct aircraft.
You can see in this photo that the large numbers were "scratched out" in this photo.

Hi Chief -
I've had excellent results with an Epson 4990 scanner - it is no longer available though (sometimes it pops up on the Epson site at a reduced "refurbished" price) it has been replaced with the V700 and V750. Check out:

I went this route as I need to scan large format transparencies and occasionally slides and prints. The results have been excellent with all three formats, even better than I expected. Well worth the price. Something less expensive but still quite good would be the V500.

Thanks for the inputs. Chief I hope you can get those pictures scanned. I would love to see more pictures of UBON other than the ones I have seen at the 8th TFW site.
As for the numbering on the nose wheel, I have to get with Rick and we will see about getting that done.
Currently the Phantom is getting some final checks done. We hope to have her doing a FCF in the next few weeks and then Phinally Phlying!

Chip, haven't forgotten the 680 on the nose door. Just haven't had a stencil made yet. Been kind of focused on the other issues. She can fly without paint but the other stuff is kind of a priority.
