This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

The only thing I've seen so far is the T-6 on Mark Clark's website that won Grand Champion Post WW2... What else won ?

I looked on the S-N-F site and they had all the results except for the warbirds

On this picture, on the right wooden floorboard, there is a hole with a wire going through it. What is that wire for, and is that original?
Just curious, and I'm not bashing the restoration, it's fantastic work!

It is not a wire going through the floor...just the way the photo makes it look. It is actually the connector end of the communications cord on the oxygen mask, that happens to be lying on the floor for the photo.

Oh, I'm such a dumbass! Of course that's what it is. I thought it looked really odd!

Each to their own I suppose but there doesnt seem to be much original in that cockpit other than the floorboards and rudder pedals, nice looking aircraft though.

The panel is quite custom.

Judging criteria at these beanfeasts seems to be based on 'degree of shininess' and 'number of toys fitted' rather than any genuine attempt at achieving an authentic 'look and feel'. Stick a few replica guns in and paint everything with as glossy a paint as you can find, polish any bare metal to a mirror finish, and you'll be a certain award winner.

Taigh,
Anymore pics on the T-6's? Awesome looking resto's. Anyone have info on the P-51 machine gun solenoid? I need a few of them.
Many thanks,
Patrick

Wonderful inflight pics. I should have been a little clearer. Anymore close-up photos (detailed) showing the quality of restoration? It looks stunning from the few images that I have seen.
