Loss of 4Th FG Ace - April 19, 1944

Sun Mar 09, 2008 7:16 pm

Does anyone have a picture of Double Ace Captain Charles Frederick "Andy" Anderson Jr. (10.5 Air and 5.5 Ground), or of his P-51B Mustang (Serial No. 43-7181 coded WD-L) which were lost on April 19, 1944 in the area of Eschwege - Eisenach, Germany?

Captain Anderson, who flew with the 335Th FS, had one other Mustang assigned to him which was a P-51B (Serial No. 43-6972 coded VF-N) named "Paul".

Pictures of either aircraft or Captain Anderson which are supplied will be duly credited in a magazine article that I am working on.

Cheers,
Tom Walsh.

Jack:

As you were the only one to respond to my request on the picture of Captain Anderson, could you check with your friend to see if he will loan me the one he has as the article will be complete in the next two weeks?

Thanks and Cheers,
Tom Walsh.

hi tom,

Let in the next day or so if you're still stuck. I have a friend with lots of 4th pics
as well. Unfortunately he's in the CAF these days and we've been out of touch
for quite a while, but I'm certainly going to forward your email request to him and
see if he know's anything. Unfortunately when he's gone, he's really out of touch.
But, that said, He's a total 4th Nut like myself!

let me see what I can find out.

take care,
henning
