This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

A while back, a dispatcher at my flight school told me about a rumor about Millville Airport, here in Jersey. He said that a lake off one of the runways, Union Lake I believe, has a few warbirds (P-47s, B-25s, and others) at the bottom. If any body doesn't know, Millville was used as a P-47 training base during WW2. Can any body confirm this? What is known about this? Also hear that the lake was so polluted that salvage is not permited.

There were training accidents. Most of them occurred over the Delaware Peninsula, Delaware Bay, and Chesapeake Bay.
BTW, why do you have a Goat as your photo when you are PBY Cat Guy?

I've heard the same story, but have no other info... I have anded there a few times- once the wind turned on me when I was landing, but happily the runways are long... I live about 40 minutes from there(by car)

I couldn't find a cool enough PBY picture for it, but am on the look out for one, so I'll get that fixed.
I live in Trenton and have flown into Millville several times to meet the cross country requirements for my Private, Commercial and Instrument tickets. It's a nice airport.

That avatar is better! Trenton is only about 30 minutes the other direction- I'm in Marlton. We oughta catch up sometime in person and talk about airplanes.
