For those of you following this fascinating bit of WWII naval history, the Finding Sydney Foundation has just posted the first photos of the wreck recently located with sonar -- confirming that it is the Australian light cruiser that sank with all hands following a desperate battle with the German commerce raider Kormoran.
The ship, while heavily damaged in the fight, appears to be remarkably intact and recognizable.
