NEAM B-29 nose section...

Wed Mar 26, 2008 11:42 am

I visited the New England Air Museum for the first time last week (I'll post the pics as soon as I get them uploaded).

I was impressed. It is a VERY nice museum.

I forgot to ask while I was there... Does anyone know what ever happened to the "Big Time Operator" B-29 nose section they had?

I didnt see any mention of it. I was just wondering if it got sold/ traded or fixed up...

Thanks for any info.

BTO is still in the storage yard. They're holding on to it for the time being.

I think I saw that one in the storage barn at NMUSAF during a tour back in the mid '90s. There was a B-29 forward fuselage standing vertically in a back corner. The tour didn't get close to it, but it appeared to have the "Big Time Operator" nose art.

That was it. It was obtained in a trade when the B-29 "Jack's Hack" was under restoration at NEAM.
